This past summer, Bandai Namco Entertainment announced the firstOne Punch Manvideo game for consoles, entitledOne Punch Man: A Hero Nobody Knows. How the game will deal with the near-invincibility and absurdly overpowered main character has been a hot topic of discussion, and while the full scope of the game’s use of protagonist Saitama is still unclear, we now know when its release date is at least.

Bandai Namco has announced theOne Punch Man: A Hero Nobody Knowsrelease date to be July 16, 2025. The game will launch on PC, PS4, and Xbox One, and will feature a cast of playable characters pulled straight from theOne Punch Manmanga and anime.

TheOne Punch Man: A Hero Nobody Knowsrelease date was announced with an action-packed new trailer that gives fans one of their best looks at the game so far. It shows some of the storyline developments that players will experience in the game, as well as gameplay of characters like King, Metal Knight, Stinger, Melzargard, and Dream Version Saitama.

Dream Version Saitama is one way that Bandai Namco has figured out how to includeOne Punch Man’s main character as a playable fighter. For the uninitiated, Dream Version Saitama is essentially nerfed version of the character who fights wearing pajamas. This will allow players to enjoy Saitama’s moveset and fight the rest of theOne Punch Man: A Hero Nobody Knowsroster without defeating all of their opponents in a single punch.

Outside of Dream Version Saitama, it’s not entirely clear how Saitama will be incorporated intoOne Punch Man: A Hero Nobody Knows. From what we can tell based on previously released gameplay footage,Saitama will be a support characterwho is called in to fights once certain conditions are met. Saitama will presumably have an expanded role in the likely story mode, though that remains to be seen.

WithOne Punch Man: A Hero Nobody Knowslaunching in February, Bandai Namco has an impressive slate for early 2020. January will see the launch of the highly-anticipatedDragon Ball Z: Kakarot, so there should be no shortage ofhigh quality anime gamesfor fans to play next year. HopefullyOne Punch Man: A Hero Nobody Knowsis a successful debut for Saitama and the gang on consoles.
