Lost Ark’s first major update of the month is bringing an impressive array of quality of life changes along with further refinement to many of the game’s systems. Everything from the chat system, controller support, strongholds, guilds, andLost Ark’s Adventurer Tome have been touched on in this update as the game prepares for its first round of server merges.
Following therocky launch ofNew Worldlate last year,Lost Arkis Amazon Games' second venture into the MMORPG market. The game has been one of the most-played MMOs in South Korea since its release in 2019, while its later Western release this year also enjoyed a massive influx of players that helped skyrocketLost Arkto the top of the Steam charts. As a class-based free-to-play MMORPG withDiablo-like combat and deep build customization,Lost Arknaturally relies on a steady pace of updates to improve game balance, implement new features, and bring in additional content to keep its player base satisfied.

While thisupdate forLost Arkdoesn’t come with any additional gameplay content, it’s a significant step forward in polishing existing aspects of the game. Improvements to the chat system such as the ability to write announcements in Global Chat, a new clickable “send message” button, new chat category filters such as Combat and Content, and the consolidation of tab groups like Loot, Experience, and Currency into an “Obtained” category are all welcome changes. Friends and blocked players are now roster-wide, and a new /block command makes blocking trouble players easy. Guilds can now also form up to five guild group chat channels for 3000 Bloodstones.
Gamers who prefer the comfort of controllers will have an easier time withcombat inLost Arkthanks to some improvements. Targeting-based skills can be easily auto-targeted to nearby enemies with LT and RT, while allies can be quickly targeted with LB and RB. For cases where the player doesn’t wish to use quick targeting, the targeting cursor’s movement speed can be adjusted. Among many improvements to strongholds is the new Theme Placement menu which provides pre-arranged placeable objects that feature all the individual pieces, rather than a one-by-one approach.
As expected, the update also makes plenty of balance changes toLost Ark’s various classes, this time with changes centered mostly around the durations of status effects and skill cooldowns in PVP. A list of dozens of bugfixes rounds out the update, while on the backend, preparations are being made forLost Ark’s first round of server merges later this month as the game continues to see a gradual decline in player numbers according to the Steam charts.
